When a stranger calls.......

Everyone has been patiently awaiting new updates of my random encounters with the opposite sex. 

Well here goes another. 

When a stranger calls.....

I dont even know this person/ never met/ never seen... so no photos this time!

It was around midnight on a Saturday, after a failed attempt at a night out in gay town. 

Jose and i sat in my living room sipping on Four locos, talking bout life, ex boyfriends and always and most importantly fashion and who wore it best and what celebrities we wanted to stab/ bed! As we sat and slowly became what can only be described as lightly sauced we decided it was the perfect time to call up anyones numbers we could accurately dial. 

We landed on one in Jose's phone... we will call him Zen for all purposes. 

We put Zen on speaker and pleaded with him about possibly marrying me so that i wouldn't have to return to Canada and i could stay and live the "American dream". As soon as the begging had gotten very heated, Jose's phone died and we had to call Zen back on my phone...

after another 15 minutes of pleading we gave it up and bid Zen farewell.. only to never speak to him again... or so i thought

the night ended like any other and Jose and i returned to our respective houses, when all of a sudden i thought my phone had gone into over drive and i started receiving second to second texts from zen. I tried to explain to him that i was no longer with Jose and that i was in serious need of a date with my pillow and not a person at this time of night. so i thought our communication would end their... it of course didn't. 

In the next 48 hours i received close to 300 text messages.. most of which were Zen professing his undying love for me and how he felt a real connection

Let me just state .. in case it wasn't clear ... i have never met, seen or spoken to this person before the for mentioned night

after my very minimal responses, zen stopped texting... 

then one afternoon i noticed i had a voice mail.... IT was Zen... 

i couldn't exactly here what he was trying to say, but what i got  from it was as follows:

"Hey

(long pause... about 15 seconds)

It's been 2 days 

( even longer pause followed by very deep breathing)

I'm surprised you havent changed your number

( deep breathing and about a 30 second pause)

I just wanted to talk to you..... and maybe ill come over

(long sigh)

call me"

1) i have never been so creeped 

out by so little words

2) who breaths that much!!!!

3) my parents were right... 

dont talk to strangers!!!!!

As always, I'm searching for inspiration in the every day. 

Lately i have been swooning over everything Agnes-Cecile. 

This work is truly mind blowing.. its simple and complex all at the same time... 

seriously as i look at the work all i can think is ... please paint me!!!! please paint me!!!!!

Sweet jewish girl goes on a date with a Nazi

You know its going to be a good one when the story starts out "so i met this guy....."

well this is one of those!

So i was a few drinks in when i had walked up to, for all purposes we will call him by this name "tatted beast". So i had walked up to tatted beast and proclaimed in one of my more gin soaked voices, that he looked like a tatted beast... 

and thats where it all began.........

So Tatted beast and i had chatted back and forth over numerous text messages, where i had come to learn that he was originally from Berlin, and while he was living back over there he used to be a porn star. If that wasnt the first red flag, the second came when my two private investigators Autuumn and Brian had found that he had only joined facebook a few months ago.. weird right?

So after a few days and some seemingly forceful text messages on tatted beasts behalf, i thought hey what the hell atleast i can get a  few free drinks and an interesting conversation out of this date. So i got ready in a pretty casual outfit and headed out the door to go meet up with Tatted Beast at a local bar. 

So as i uncomfortably sat, trying to sound interested in what the beast had to say.. my mind wondered.. what was i going to eat for breakfast tomorrow? do i have dog food? how it would be funny if me and elvis both didnt have food and we became all ragey cause we were hungry and tired... but then i snapped out of it when the beast asked me what my favorite book was. At the this point, i had actually started to think that he might be normal, or atleast we would be able to chat about books and our favorite authors. So i replied " well at the moment im reading Crystal castle for about the 4th time cause i cant seem to find another book i can really get into.. whats yours?" and without even skipping a beat he replies "the bible" 

OH DEAR

mind you, i have no problem with religious people or even if your favorite book is the bible.. i mean personally being the nice jewish girl that i am, i havent had the chance or urge to actually read the bible.. i mean im more of a non-fiction reader so the bible isnt exactly up my alley LOL 

So seeing this as an opportunity i asked " well if thats your favorite.. whats your second favorite?"

At this point i had still thought maybe this guy actually reads and maybe we could continue from here... but no he hits me with "oh my second favorite book is Mien Kampf.. and i veiw it as more of a religion as apposed to even a book" ... so being the nice jewish girl i am i almost shit my pants!

Thoughts raced through my mind... does he know im jewish? is he going to skin me and make me into a lamp shade? does the bathroom have a window low enought ot he ground so i can escape this horror? 

At this point i was completely zoned out as he told me about his grandfather being a nazi, how hitler was a visionary and how he even had Jim Henson tattoos on him even though he was a jew... 

I did the typical stretch and yawn, but i could tell the best just wasnt getting it. so after about 20 minutes of fake yawning, i lied and had said i had a super early day and would have to cut this charming evening short. 

AS i sprinted to my car, all i could think was "Wow.... this sweet little jewish girl just went on a date with a nazi!

The Bitch is Back

WOW... its been awhile!

So as i sat on the couch this morning drinking my coffee, i had ho'd and hummm'd about starting up the blog again, and in what direction it would go, how to explain the last month, or even what to call it....

While waiting to write, i was watching a lifetime movie ( as per usual) and thought i think i will call this "Hell Hath no furry like a woman Scorn"... but then that would be a little to literal for my welcome back to the blog world. Well as most of you know by now Jesse and i have parted ways... and as i sit here this morning, I feel every possible emotion about the entire thing all at once... so maybe now isnt the right tim to write about it. 

If i had called my blog the for mentioned name, the furry however would not be referring to spiteful things i would do, however it would describe the furry that is everything amazing and beautiful that comes from change. 

The direction of my blog however will still be somewhat the same, about fashion, life, love, my friends and the craziness i encouter/ the crazies that find me along the way. 

Also i want to thank all of my amazing friends and family, seriously sometimes i have to sit back and take a deep breath just to take it all in at how amazing the people around me are. They are all truly unique and special in their own way. 

So all this being said... THE BITCH IS BACK!

and in full effect... winnipegers and Denverites know exactly the girl I'm talking about... hahah

bye bye laguna

So in just over a week i will be leaving Laguna

Its actually quite funny cause i never thought i would even like it here, i mean of course their are the obvious draws of living on the beach and not having to drive everywhere, but i am a city girl at heart!

so i have to say a bye bye but will always love laguna, and have become a beach town girl

things to come:

- serious DIY's in my new apartment

- Beach house with Autumn as soon as she 

gets her ass back to California

-getting my ass kicked in Miyagi boxing gym

This last weekend i had the pleasure of attending the wedding of two amazing people Calley and Aaron

In true May kadoody fashion i had to be rebel.. i wore white ( dont worry i ran it passed the bride probably like 30 times to make sure she didnt care)

The Lagunatics II....

The next Lagunatic is probably Laguna Beach's most famous

Name: Cindy (Umbrella)

Age: Unknown

Claim to Fame:this is a tough one because Cindy 

is so many things all at once. 

She can be seen strolling up and down PCH with a giant patio umbrella slung over her shoulder yelling at trees and other plant life. 

She also has one of the craziest wardrobes i have ever seen. She is often found wearing 3-7 wigs at once, multiple bandanas, countless watches, ponchos, etc. 

She also does not deal in regular American dollars, she trades matchbox cars for beers at the local gay bar. 

She is one of the most well known and hilarious members of the lagunatics!

The Lagunatics.....

This past weekend, while nursing a major hangover, me and my neighbours mused about all things Laguna.

Laguna, if you dont know is a small beach community that prides itself on being a an artists retreat as well as a weekend getaway spot for anyone inland.

These things are all nice but arent what i love about Laguna.

The thing i love about living here are the Lagunatics!

Since Laguna is pretty small the homeless/ crazy population is pretty small so you get to know all of them pretty quickly.

So here is the first of what will become a series!

Meet Garfield Lady!

Name: Garfield lady

Age: unknown( but i can estimate roughly 40ish)

What Makes her a Lagunatic: She frequents all the bars

up and down PCH selling drawings of garfield. The MAjority of these drawings are ones that she has colored in that have been removedfrom coloring books. IF you are lucky however she may have a hand drawn gem or two..... i once got a hello kitty/ garfield love child that know sits on a special spot on my fridge!

Earth Day

So yesterday i had the chance to go participate in UCLA's Earth Day!

The Day started pretty early and we met up with the Silver Jeans Co Fam at the Laguna Beach marketing and PR office, we packed up our gear and headed to LA!

Most of the day was spent educating student on ways that

Silver Jeans Co. is using new processes to reduce, reuse and recycle.

We talked about new washing processes ( ones that use almost 60% less water or no water at all) and ways that we are recycling by using recycled materials in the denim as well as in the bags that shoppers take home from the Denver store location.

We also had a denim trade in event to benefit homeless youth in LA!

The Only down side to the day was that i walked away with one massive sunburn!

no news is good news...

Not to much here on the home front...

school has began and has taken over most of my life ...

so i thought i would leave you all something to be inspired by!

So last week was my first week back at school after my long adventure to the south and relaxing week spent in denver.

Unlike most college kids back to school does not mean sweatpants, greasy hair and some form of slipper/ugg/flip flop combo. If you dont know already I go to FIDM which is a fashion school, and i like most people who go their dress accordingly, so i thought i would share a sneak peak of my first day of school outfit (yes i am 6 years old and yes it may have been pre planned)

Some of the highlights are:

- brand new navajo ring from manitou springs

-Spiked Litas

- Sparkly nails

- always have to have the perfect winged eye

( dont worry i will do a tutorial on how to achieve this in a later post)

Denver.... Where fleece is always at the height of fashion

So after the long road trip to Augusta and back, i got a chance to settle in, in Colorado Springs for a week

While i was there i got to visit some of my faves and mostly just chill out with my man friend, go up to the mountains, visit denver etc.

One of my first stops upon arriving was going to have to be to one of my favorite Denver Salons, Star Salon to visit some of my besties as well as get my Hair did, as I'm too frightened to go to anyone in california. I had been rocking the blonde tips a la Drew Barrymore for quite some time now so I decided it was time to go back to black! Duane did an awesome job and i left with all black locks with just a hint of purple for shine!

After prepping, processing and curls Duane and i headed out to meet some more of our ninjas for drinks and hours of silliness and laughter! The night of course ended in watching Despicable Me and finding out that Larry (Roxy Reubenstein) made a guest appearance.

The rest of the trip was mostly spent out in the Springs with my man friend. We enjoyed a trip to Manitou Springs to hun for native american treasures, kareokee with his best and even some serious delicious BBQ!

Wait.... you didn't tell me there was a statue of James Brown

Last week my man friend and I took a serious road trip from Colorado to Augusta Georgia. When i say serious i mean roughly 30 somethinghours each way......

On saturday morning we headed out on our journey and arrived in Fortworth later that night, only to get back on the road bright and early to head to Florida to pick up his kidlettes (please mind the fact that this was the first time i have met them). We then headed out on the second half of ourjourney to Georgia which was another 5 hours in the car. We finally got to Augusta to spend some quality time with my mans amazing sister Gina and her two kids.

Here are something ilearned about the south

and travelling with kids:

1.) Never and i mean NEVER gives kids a time

frame on how long the road trip will be

2.)There is too much humidity in the south for

people with normal hair

3.)Traffic stops in the south for donkeys pulling

a Jesus banner are normal and apparently

frequent

4.)Toys in the car! Always have toys in the car

5.)There is a statue of James Brown in Augusta

and its true to his actual height!!!!!

6.) Always get BBQ when in the south

7.)Never tell a little girl that i might know

Justin Beiber and that he possibly has a

crush on her

8.) If me and my man friend can survive almost

60 hours trapped in a car togetherwe can

probably survive anything!!!!
